Health Tip: Kick Dust Mites Out of Bed

(HealthDay News) -- Do you wake up sneezing and sniffling? Dust mites in your bed could be to blame.

But you don't have to share your bed with these critters. Here are suggestions from the National Sleep Foundation:

  • Run a dehumidifier in your bedroom, as dust mites thrive in humid conditions.
  • Buy dust-proof covers for your pillows and mattress.
  • Every week, wash bedding in very hot water and dry it in the hot cycle.
  • Dust and vacuum your bedroom weekly.
